Day by Day, bubbler grow guide (200+ pictures)

First off, this journal is a little different than most.
Instead of posting throughout the grow, I kept a detailed journal on my computer so I could post a weeks worth of growing info in a single post. I also took plenty of pictures to show how the plants develop throughout the grow as well as pictures of alternating nodes, female pistils, male pre-flowers, bud development & anything else I thought might be of importance.
I've tried to list the day by day details that I feel are extremely important to keep an eye on throughout a grow. So this should be a fairly good day-by-day guide for peeps to use for their own grows.
Keep in mind that not all strains like the same nutrient & ph levels. So watch what your plants are doing & adjust your nute & ph levels accordingly.

I think the first thing that should be in every grow journal, are the complete details of your growing area, such as square footage, ventilation, lighting & most importantly, how you're growing. Soil or Hydro.
If your growing in soil, list your soil mix & all of the fertilizers & supplements you plan to use. And please be sure to list how much of everything you use & when you use it.
If your growing in hydro, let us know how you’re growing in hydro. NFT, Ebb & Flow, Drip, Bubbler, Aero, or any of the many methods there are to grow our favorite herb.
Also let us know if you’re going to Top, LST, SCROG, SOG, FIM or let them grow naturally.
The more details about your grow you give us, the more we can help if problems arise.

Cabinet:
My cabinet is made of white melomine. Great stuff. It doesn't warp, you can write on it with a dry erase marker & it wipes right off. Perfect for keeping notes. The cab measures 55" high x 29" wide x 22" deep. This gives me 4.4 square feet & 20.3 cubic feet.
種植箱(櫃):

Ventilation:
This is one of the most important things to control during a grow.
If the temp is too high, the plants can transpire so much, that the salts from the nutes can build up on the leaves & burn them. Keeping the humidity high can help, but then you'll still have to deal with the possibility of the plants stretching, another thing high temps can cause. During the vegetative portion of a grow, the plants do best with temps between 70f & 79f.
During flowering it's ok to let the temps go to as high as 90. This can actually cause the plants to produce more trichome as a form of protection from the heat.
Ventilation also controls your humidity. During the veg & flowering stretch, the plants will do best with the humidity between 50% & 75%. Lower temps & higher humidity will help to keep the spacing between internodes close. Especially when the plants are first starting out.
During the flowering stage of the grow, the humidity needs to stay below 50% to avoid mold forming on the buds.
The lower humidity will also make your plants transpire more. More transpiration means more uptake of nutrients which will give you bigger colas. Be careful though. Low humidity & high temps during flowering can be a plus, but it can also burn the hell out of your plants from too many nutrients if your not very careful.
If you start to see any burning of the leaves, lower the ppm of the nutrients immediately. You might even have to flush the plants to remove the excess nutes.

在種植的生長階段, 大麻最佳的生長溫度是介於華氏70~79度(攝氏21~26度)而開花階段可以讓溫度高到華氏90度(攝氏32度), 開花時的高溫會造成大麻產生更多的的毛狀體用以保護自己不受高溫傷害(以下不再換算華氏和攝氏, 請自行找公式換算或使用google幫你換算)
空氣流通同時也能幫助控制濕度, 在生長期和花期之前的伸展期, 最適合大麻生長的濕度是相對濕度50%~75%之間, 較低的溫度和較高的濕度有助於大麻將枝節生得較緊緻較密, 這點尤見於大麻種子剛破土而出時
在真正的花期之中, 為了避免花苞發霉, 濕度應保持低於50%, 較低的濕度代表著大麻將會蒸發較多的水分, 而蒸發較多的水分表示大麻將會吸收更多的營養液, 更多的營養液吸收則代表了更大的cola(照字面大家都知道是可樂, 但是可樂關他媽的大麻什麼屁事, cola在這裡指的應該是甜筒, 就是主花苞所呈現出來的倒三角錐)但是請小心, 花期時, 高溫和乾燥可以加分但如果沒有非常小心照顧也可能造成大麻吸收過多養分而燒傷甚至死亡
如果葉面上開始出現灼燒的現象, 立刻降低營養液的濃度(ppm)甚至沖洗整株大麻以洗去多出來的養分

I have 1, 4" exhaust hole with a 4" 104cfm axial fan pulling air out of the top of the cabinet & then blowing it into the ceiling rafters. I also have an ozone generator blowing ozone into the rafters for odor control. Works great.
I have 1, 4” passive exhaust hole in the floor of the cabinet with a 4" black pvc pipe going through a hole I drilled through the sub floor of my home. This allows me to bring cool air into the cabinet from the crawl space beneath my home.
I also have a 4" passive exhaust hole in the side of the cabinet, just above the floor that pulls warm air from inside my home.

The winters here get extremely cold. We already have 6 feet of snow on the ground & the temps have dropped to as low as -14f. So keeping my cabinet within the proper temp ranges is a little tricky when 12/12 starts. The problem is keeping the cold air being pulled in from under the house getting the cab to cold during lights out. If I don't keep the cold air out, the temp drops into the 40's & that’s to cold for MJ. In the summer, the temp under the house stays in the 60's so it's not a problem.
So here's how I fixed the winter problem:
For 24/0 lighting, I tape over the hole in the side of the cab & leave the hole in the floor of the cab open 24/0. This lets cold air in continuously & keeps the temp pretty constant.
For 12/12 lighting, I mount another 4" 104cfm axial fan over the exhaust hole in the floor. I attach a 4" dryer vent cap to the top of it & untape the hole in the side of the cab that was closed during 24/0.
The exhaust fan mounted to the floor of the cab is on the same timer as the lights. So when the lights are on, the fan turns on pushing the hinged flap on the vent cap open, allowing cool air into the cab during lights on.
When the lights turn off, the fan shuts off & the vent cap closes. With the vent cap closed, the air gets pulled in through the exhaust hole in the side of the cabinet. The air that gets pulled in through the side is from within my house & is usually between 65f & 72f. Kind of complicated, but it works to keep the temps steady.

On top of all that, I have a circulation fan blowing air 24/0 & an ultrasonic humidifier running 24/0. The humidifier has a 2-gallon res. & I have to fill it twice a day.
Because of the small size of my cab, I point the circulation fan away from my plants while they’re young. This still gives plenty of air & plant movement. If I point the fan directly at the plants, the leaves the fan hits directly, get nutrient burned. What happens is the leaves transpire so quickly; the nutrients build up within the leaves & on the surface of the leaves causing them to burn & dry out. It only takes a light breeze, not a full-blown gale for your plants to get fresh air & strong stems.

Lighting:
Lighting is another of the very important aspects of a grow.
Bottom line is, the more lumens you have, the bigger & tighter the colas are going to be.
Anything less than 2,500 lumen per square foot & you'll have very fluffy buds. Personally, I feel you should have at least 5,000 lumen per square foot to get decent density. The closer you can keep the lights to the top of the plants, without heat becoming a problem, the better of the plants will be.

I use 4, 95 watt Envirolights. I have 2 of the red spectrum & 2 of the full spectrum. I run my lights 24/0 during the veg cycle & 12/12 during the flowering cycle.

This will be the 6th grow with the same bulbs. I have the bulbs mounted in a reflector that was made for 2 bulbs. I modified it to fit all 4. I keep the bulbs within 12" & 2" of the top of the plants. The only reason I use Envirolights, they don't give off nearly as much heat as HID's do. The Envirolights put out 8950 lumen each. So that gives me a total of 35,800 lumen. Divide that by my square footage & you'll see I have 8,136 lumen per square foot. I know Envirolights don't have the penetration that HID's do, but I can keep the Envirolights within 2" on the top of the plants without harming the plants. So they "can" get pretty decent penetration, especially if you keep your plants on the short size.

Growing Style:
Low Stress Training in Bubbler:
I am using 3 home made 5-gallon bubbler. I'm training the plants because of the height of the buckets & the lack of height in my cab. From the top of the buckets to 2" below the light at it's highest point, is only 35”.
The reason I chose to use individual buckets instead of a storage tote, is I'm growing from seed. Trying to separate the males from the females in a storage tote is next to impossible without seriously damaging the roots. Damaging the roots causes the plant to go into shock & can delay growth for up to two weeks. Not a good thing.

I used 5 gallon paint buckets & wrapped them in reflectix insulation & covered the lids with reflectix tape. The reflectix insulation keeps the nutes from getting warmed up by the lights. I have no problem keeping my nutes in the low 70's.
Here's a quick side note about nute temps.
The lower the temp, the more dissolved oxygen the solution can hold. Higher temps hold less oxygen. More oxygen is better.
Temps below 68f can slow the growth of the plants & temps above 80f can cause them to stretch.
I try to keep mine between 70f & 75f.

Okay, back to the buckets. Next I drilled a small hole for the air hose fitting, into the side of each bucket, about 1/2" from the bottom. Be sure to use a small amount of waterproof sealant on the inside of the bucket around the whole. Then push the fitting through from the inside. This way the pressure of the water on the flange of the fitting will help to keep it from leaking. I've never had a leak.

I taped my air pumps to the sides of the buckets with the outlets pointing to the top of the bucket. I mounted them high enough for the air hose to be above the water level. This will keep any water from getting into the air pumps. I also use check valves for added safety.
My air pumps are the dual outlet, 20 to 60 gallon pumps they sell at WalMart for $9.95. I use one for each bucket.
I use black 1/4" drip irrigation hose for my airlines. For each pump I cut two, 5" pieces of airline & attach them to each outlet on the pump. I then attach the 2 on each pump to a t fitting. Next, I cut a piece of air line long enough to reach from the single side of the t fitting to the fitting on the side of the bucket & attach both ends to the fittings. Doing this puts the air from both outlets into one hose.

For air stones, I found 3" air discs, mounted to a weighted base at my local fish store. These things put out a ton of bubbles & stay in place. To mount these, I simply cut a piece of air hose the right length to keep the disc centered in the bottom of the bucket & attach it to the air disc & then to the fitting on the inside of the bucket. Be sure to give the sealant enough time to dry before attaching the airlines.

Growing Medium:
3 1/2" net pots, hydroton & rockwool.
For the net pot, I simply drill a hole in the center of the lid with a hole saw. I also cut 1 1/2" x 2" hole in the lid to give me a place to check & adjust the nutes with out having to lift the lid. Once training starts, I won't be able to lift the lid. So this was a must. I covered the access hole with a thick black piece of plastic held down with 1" nuts to make sure no light leaks into the reservoir. Light leaks in your reservoir can cause all kinds of nasties to grow in your nutes. Many of which can kill your plants.

To get the hydroton ready to use, I place them in a colander & run water through them while shaking the hell out of the colander. This removes most of the dust & loose pieces from the hydroton. This is a very important process. Too much hydroton dust in your nutes can affect the ph & ppm levels. So don't skip this. This is my sixth grow using the same hydroton pellets, so I don't need to bother with this step anymore.

Nutrients, Supplements:
I'm using General Hydroponics Nutrients.
Flora Micro (5-0-1), Flora Grow (2-1-6) & Flora Bloom (0-5-4)
I also use General Hydroponics pH up (0-0-9) & pH down (0-9-0).
The only supplements I use are silicone (0-0-3), (be careful with the silicone, it raises pH fairly substantially.) liquid kelp (0.1-0-1) & General Hydroponics Kool Bloom (2-45-28).

I soaked the rockwool & hydroton in 1/2tsp. per gal. liquid kelp ph'd to 6.0. I let it soak for at least 24 hours.

Today I got the net pots ready for the seeds & planted the seeds.

Here's what I do.
I put a 1" layer of hydroton in the bottom of a 3" net pot. Then I set the rockwool plug on top of the hydroton & fill in the empty space around the plug with more hydroton. Next, I prepare the rockwool for a seed by tearing small pieces loose from the top of the plug, then place the seed, point down, on top of the plug & place the pieces of rockwool I pulled loose lightly on top of the seeds. Once the seeds are planted, I put the net pots under a humidity dome with the humidity at 95% & the temp at 78f.

Placing the seeds point down is very important. The pointy end is where the root tip will come out. Sometimes it's difficult to tell which end is which. So I look at the seeds through a magnifying glass. One end of the seed will come to a point; the other end will have a depression in it & have a lighter coloring in the middle of the depression. This is the end that will act as a hinge when the sprout comes out. Getting the seeds planted correctly will greatly increase your chances of getting sprouts.
把種子朝下放進岩綿是非常重要的, 尖的那頭是種子發根出來的地方, 有時候很難看出哪一頭是哪一頭, 所以我用放大鏡觀察種子, 有一邊會呈現尖頭, 另一邊會呈現下凹而且下凹的中心部位顏色比較淡, 這頭會是嫩芽發出來的點, 把種子種對方向對發芽有很大的幫助

I lifted the rockwool off the seed that hasn't shown & it never germinated.
So I guess this is going to be a three plant grow. Which is a good thing, with the fan & humidifier, I only have room for three five-gallon buckets in the cab.
I misted the plants with 1/2tsp. per gal liquid kelp ph'd to 5.7.
I mist the plants twice a day with this solution until the roots hit the nute solution.

Now that I know which 3 are going into the bubblers, I went ahead & started the bubblers up at 400ppm with a ph of 5.6.
Here's what I add to accomplish this.
1 ml per gal Micro
1 ml per gal Grow
1 ml per gal Bloom
1 ml per gal Silicone
2 ml per gal pH Down
I check the pH at least once a day. Most days I check in the am & pm.
My tap water is 90ppm at 6.7pH. So I'm adding 310ppm of nutrients & supplements.

Side Note: The amounts I add to get the desired ppm may be different than what you need to add. It all depends on what ppm your water starts at.
The only way to be sure you’ve got the ppm correct is with a meter.

Here's another tip for everybody.
If your using a garden hose to get water for any part of your grow, sterilizing it before each use is very important. The inside of your hose is a perfect breeding ground for all kinds of nasty things.
The way I sterilize mine is to attach a waterbed pump to my bathroom sink & attach the hose to it.
Next I fill the other bathroom sink with 1 cup bleach per. gal. very hot water.
Then I turn on the water to get the waterbed pump to work & suck the bleach water through the hose. When all the bleach water has been sucked through the hose I remove the waterbed pump, attach the hose directly to the faucet & run hot water back through the hose to rinse out all the bleach. I do this every time I use the hose. My hose is only used for my grow & never leaves the house.
Also, don't attach the male & female ends of the hose together when you store it. That's an almost surefire way to get nasties growing in your hose.

There are very pale yellow spots on the leaves that I think are from the light being magnified by the water droplets. It could just be my lousy eyesight too. But just to be on the safe side, I only misted them once today.

If you've been paying attention, you probably noticed my temp & humidity have been changing.
That's because it's been getting colder outside & the humidity has been dropping. It's at 21% today.
As long as the humidity in the cab stays above 50% & the temp stay below 80f, I'll be a happy camper.

1:00pm:
I misted the plants & checked the pH to find it had dropped to 5.3 on all 3 buckets. Since this was a fairly dramatic overnight drop & there aren't enough roots yet to affect the ppm or pH of the nutrients, I recalibrate my pH pen thinking it just gave me a bad reading.
After recalibrating the pen I rechecked the pH of the nutrients & they still read 5.3. Not sure why they dropped like that.
I raised the pH to 5.8 by adding 1ml per gal. of silicone to each bucket. I’ll check it again later tonight.

I checked the pH & it's still at 5.8. Still not sure what made it drop, but it seems fine now.
I also noticed a small amount of either heat burn or nutrient burn on one of the new leaflets. I think it might have hit the light while I was holding up the lid to take a picture of the inside of the bubbler. But just to be on the safe side, I'm going to stop misting them for a couple of days. If I don't see any more burning, I'll resume misting them.

During the veg cycle & the flowering stretch, the pH needs to stay between 5.5 & 5.9.
The plants need more nitrogen (N) during these growth periods & they're able to uptake more when your nutrients are at a lower pH value.
在生長期間和開花前期(伸展期), 酸鹼值必需保持在5.5~5.9之間, 大麻在生長期間需要較多的氮, 營養液的酸鹼值低一點(較酸)可以讓大麻吸收更多的氮

When the flowering stretch is over & you see the buds starting to form, it's cool to let it slide up to 6.1.
The plants need a lot of potassium (K) to grow flowers (buds) & they're able to uptake more when your nutrients are at a higher pH value. A good range to keep the pH during the budding cycle is 5.7 to 6.1.
當伸展期結束而且花苞開始成形時, 可以漸漸地讓酸鹼值上升到6.1, 大麻在開花期間需要大量的鉀(K), 而且當營養液的酸鹼值高一點(較不那麼酸)時可以吸收更多的鉀, 在開花期間, 酸鹼值的範圍最好維持在5.7~6.1之間

This doesn't mean you should keep the pH at the extreme of either of these. The plants uptake different nutrients at different pH levels, so in my opinion, it's best to let it drift up & or down, between the pH ranges.
這並不表示你應該把酸鹼值固定在理想範圍的任一個極端值, 大麻在不同的酸鹼值時會從營養液裡吸收不同的營養, 所以我的意見是最好讓酸鹼值在範圍內上上下下

I misted the plants again today & checked the pH. The pH rise to 6.0 so I added 0.3 ml per gal pH down to each bucket. Now the pH is at 5.7.
Now that the roots have reached the nutrient solution, I'm going to discontinue misting the plants. The magnifying effect of the water droplets is leaving burn marks on the leaves & they really don't need the extra nutrients anyway.

The white residue on & around the burn is nutrient that transpired out of the leaf & burned it. This is a perfect example of what water droplets on your plants can do & what the first signs of this type of burn are. You'll also notice the burn is almost perfectly round. Another sign that the light being magnified by a water droplet caused it.

Temp in the cabinet dropped to 76f because it's cold & snowing again.
pH was back up to 6.0 again today. Since the pH seems to go up most days, I lowered it to 5.5 with 0.5 ml per gal pH down. I'll let it drift up to 5.9. Then drop it back to 5.5. This way the plants can uptake all the nutrients they need.

I'm going out of town until tomorrow night so my son is going to refill the humidifier res. for me this evening, but he won't be able to do it tomorrow morning.

This poses a little problem to keep the humidity above 50% it has to run on high & needs to be filled twice a day.

Here's my solution.
My son is going to move the lights to the top of the cab & turn the humidifier to it's lowest setting.

I'm also hoping this won't make them stretch. It'll be like this for less than 24 hours so I'm pretty confident everything should be okay when I get back tomorrow.

I got home about 7:00pm & immediately went to check on my babies.
The pH was at 5.7. So everything was fine there. But there were some problems.
我大約晚間七點到家, 立刻去檢查我的寶貝們, 酸鹼值為5.7, 一切看起來還算正常, 但是發生了一些問題

Bad News First
My son accidentally partially closed the vent where the mist comes out of the humidifier & an air bubble had formed across the opening. The res. was still full so there wasn't any humidity being added to the cab for approx. 23 hours.
The humidity was at 22% & the temp was up to 86f.
The other thing that happened was the nutrient temps went up to 81f.
Moving the lights to the top of the cab changed the airflow in the cab. This caused warm air to be circulated around the lower part of the buckets.
Everything was back to normal now & the nutrient temp is slowly coming down.
先說說壞消息, 我兒子意外地關上了部分的加濕器出氣口, 而且在剩餘的開口部分形成了一個氣泡, 加濕器的水箱還是滿的, 因此, 種植箱大約23小時沒有得到濕氣的加濕, 相對濕度掉到22%, 而溫度則高到華氏86度, 另一件發生的事情是營養液的溫度也上升到華氏81度, 把燈泡調到箱內最高的位置這個動作造成箱內的空氣動線改變, 這造成了暖空氣停留在桶子週圍而使得桶內的營養液溫度升高, 不過一切都回歸正常, 營養液的溫度也慢慢地降下來

Now for the Good News
The plants look great & more than doubled in size. They seemed to have enjoyed their little heat spell.

I'm premixing 15 gallons of nutrients in an 18-gallon storage tote to be used for a res. change tomorrow night.
I'm hoping that mixing them 24 hours ahead of time will give me a chance to get the pH stabilized before I do the res. change. The pH always seems to go up for 2 to 3 days after I do a res. change. I think it was HydroSan that told me the phosphoric acid (pH down) gassing off is what causes this.

I added a little too much Micro & the ppm ended up at 660.

The other thing I should have done was wait until after I mixed the nutrients to smoke that bowl of Kali Mist. Fuggin Stoners.
I'll probably have to readjust the pH again before I do the res. change tomorrow.

I checked the pH & ppm of the nutrients I mixed for the res. change today & as expected the pH rise to 5.8. So I added 0.5 ml per gal pH down to get it back to 5.5.
For the next couple of days I'll keep a close watch on the plants for any signs that the ppm is too high. If I see anything out of the ordinary I let you all know.
To drain the old nutrients, I attach my waterbed pump to the bathroom sink, attach the garden hose, put the other end of the hose in the res., turn on the water at the sink & let it suck the solution from the bubbler.
To add the new nutrients, I have a submersible pump that I place in the bottom of the storage tote I have the new solution in. I have a 10' clear hose attached to the pump that I put in the access hole in the lid of the bubbler. Then I simply turn on the pump & let the bubbler fill.
Now that the roots are in the solution, I keep the level of the nutrients approximately 1/4" below the nets pots.

pH was up to 5.8 so I added 0.4 ml per gal pH down to each 5 gal bubbler. This brought it back to 5.5.

The secondary growth is really starting to take off as well.

The plants are really starting to take off now.
The spacing between the nodes is less than 1/2 inch & the stem is getting very thick.
It's going to be slow going getting the tops to bend without breaking them.
I kind of wished they'd have stretched a little more. It would've made training them a lot easier.

The ppm dropped to 600 & the pH dropped to 5.3.
I added 2.5 mil of silicone to each bucket. This brought the pH to 5.8.
You might be wondering why I use silicone to raise the pH instead of pH up.
Silicone raises the pH just fine & the plants are more resistant to stress when you use silicone
The recommended dose of silicone is 2.5 to 5.0 ml per gallon of water. When I do my res. change I only add 1 ml per gallon.
Since I start with substantially less silicone than the recommended dose, I'm able to add it, instead of pH up.
The reason I raised the pH to 5.8 is, I noticed a little leaf curl going on. This could be the first sign of Magnesium deficiency. The plants at pH levels above 5.8 take up Mg & my pH has been below that for a while now. Keeping the pH above 5.8 for a few days will let the plants uptake the mg in the nutrients & should get rid of the leaf curl.

The ppm dropped to 550 & the pH dropped to 5.7.
The plants have finally drunk enough of the solution that I need to add more.
I mixed 2 gallons of water with,
1.5 ml per gal Micro
3.0 ml per gal Grow
1.5 ml per gal Bloom
4.0 ml per gal Silicone
This brought the ppm to 700 & the pH to 7.0.
Each bubbler took 1/2 gal. to get the solution back to just below the bottom of the net pots.

After an hour of letting the new solution mix with the old, I checked the ppm & pH. The ppm was 580 & the pH was 6.0.
The pH is a tad high; it will probably drop to 5.9 by tomorrow morning so I'm not going to mess with it.
I was hoping the ppm would be closer to 650, 580 is fine though.

For the growth hormones to switch to the secondary growth, I need to get the main tops below the tops of the new branches.
Because of the thickness of the stems, I'm bending the tops over a little at a time.
This should keep them from snapping off.

The ppm dropped 30 points too. It looks like the plants are going to start seriously sucking up the nutrients.
Next time I add top up solution I'll bring the total ppm of the nutrients up to 800.
I didn't retie any of the training wires today. I'll let the branches grow another day before I pull them back down.
The secondary growth is already starting to grow past the tied top & will need to be tied down within the next couple of days.
Raising the pH has stopped the leaf curl. Having the pH to low was locking the mg out.
That's why it's important to let the pH drift.

Good News. The plants have alternating nodes on several of the secondary growths branches & it looks like the main stem on two of the plants are starting to alternate as well. This is the first time I've ever had plants do this after only 19 days of veg. I'm going to keep them in veg for at least another week to get more potential bud sites.
好消息:植株在節點的部分開始長出分枝, 而且在其中2株上看起來就像主莖一樣開始有替代的意味, 才種19天就長出替代分枝的, 這還是我的頭一遭呢, 我將最少再讓他們成長個一週以得到更多潛在的花苞位置

The ppm dropped 50 points overnight. So like I said before, the plants are really starting to suck up the nutrients.
The pH stayed at 5.9, which kind of surprised me. I expected it to drop a little.
When I top up the res. tomorrow I'm going to bring the ppm up to 800 & drop the pH to 5.7.
I did some more training this morning.
I retied the main stem to keep it below the rest of the growth & tied down a couple of the tallest new branches as well.
The plants are doing awesome & getting very bushy.

The nutrient burn you see is from me not being careful. Every once in a while, (actually, quite often) I accidentally drip nutrients on them when I check the pH & ppm.
I'm not worried though, as these leaves will end up getting trimmed after the flowering stretch stops.
I'll get more into trimming when the time comes.

The pH was still at 5.9 but the ppm had dropped to 450 & the res. temp was down to 67f.
I added 1/2 gallon of top up solution to each bubbler, with a ppm of 1600 pH'd to 5.0.
Here's what I added to two gallons of water to make the top up solution.
4.5 ml per gal Micro
9.0 ml per gal Grow
4.5 ml per gal Bloom
2.5 ml per gal pH Down

To raise the res. temp, I used 90f water to make the top up solution.
After adding this to the res., the pH went down to 5.8, the ppm only went up to 580 & the res. temp is at 72f.
Well, the res. temp is the only thing that ended up where I wanted it.

Each bubbler holds approximately 4.5 gallons of solution.

5 ml per bubbler Bloom

After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 900 & the pH was 5.7.
That's exactly where I wanted the pH but the ppm ended up a little higher than expected.
I don’t think it will be a problem, but I’ll be watching the plants very closely for any sign of nutrient toxicity.

I moved the circulation fan to on top of the humidifier the first of February to see how it would affect the temp & humidity. If you go back & look at the daily stats you’ll see the temp has been 71f since then.
To bring the temps back up, I taped the exhaust hole in the floor of my cab closed & opened the one in the side of the cab.
I’m hoping that closing the hole that has been letting cold air in & opening the hole that lets room temp air in will keep the res. temps from getting so low.
The intake air seems to circulate around the bubbler before it gets sucked out at the top of the cab & I think that’s why the res. temps have been dropping.
If the cab temp stays below 80f I’ll be a happy camper as this will eliminate having to add the extra fan during flowering.
It’s really amazing how moving things around in the cab can make such a difference in the environment.

With the cold air intake closed, the temp rise to 82f & the humidity went up to 75%.
So I opened back up the cold air intake & left the warm air intake open as well.
Now the temp is staying at 75f & the humidity is down to 60%. Much better.
It looks like I’m going to have to do the dryer vent & extra fan bit for flowering after all. Bummer, it’s a pain in the ass redoing all the electrical wiring.
I tied down several more branches today. The training is coming along kind of slowly because of the thickness of the stems. If I pull the tops down too much, they’ll snap right off.
Just another case of slow & steady wins the race.

Not much to do today. The cab temp dropped a little & so did the res. temp.
I noticed symptoms of nitrogen deficiency starting to show on a few of the leaves while I was retying the branches today. I’m fairly certain this was caused from having the ppm of the nutrients too low. I’ll keep an eye out to see if it gets any worse, but I doubt that it will since I raised the ppm of the solution.
The plants are growing like crazy now. They really like the higher ppm.
There are alternating nodes everywhere. Even on the main stem.
Even though I could start flowering anytime, I’m going to keep training them for another week to create more bud sites.

Everything’s going as planned. The plants are drinking up the nutrients & growing like crazy.

I had to retie all the branches again today to keep them low & even.
The pH dropped fairly dramatically last night. I know my meter is calibrated, so I think the plants are telling me it’s time for a solution change. They’ve only drunken 1 gallon of solution since the last res. change, but the last res. change was 11 days ago. So tomorrow they get brand new nutrients.
The reason they’re not drinking a lot of the solution, is I’ve been keeping the humidity above 60% & the temps below 75f. This keeps the leaves from transpiring very much.

When the temp gets above 80f & the humidity drops below 50%, the leaves start transpiring a lot more, making the roots suck up more of the solution.
If you have temp & humidity levels like this, the roots can uptake more nutrients than the plants can use. So you need to lower the ppm of your solution or your plants may suffer nutrient burn.
當溫度高過華氏80度且濕度降到低於50%時, 葉面會蒸散多很多的水分, 使得根部輸送更多的營養液, 如果你把溫濕度維持在這樣的水平, 根部會送上多於大麻消耗能力的養分, 這樣一來你就必需降低營養液濃度不然大麻就會遭受營養液灼傷

I changed the solution today.
The new solution is at 1050ppm pH’d to 5.5.
Since the res. temp has been dropping on a regular basis, I adjusted the new solution to 78f. This should keep it from dropping below 68f, if not I’ll use warm water when I top it up.
This is what I added to the water to get the ppm & pH of the new solution where I wanted it.

After being in the bubbler for 2 hours, the pH has risen to 5.9.
I added another 1 mil per gal pH down to bring it back down to 5.5.
I’ll check it again in a few hours & readjust if needed.

I’ll check the pH again before I go to bed. If it goes above 5.7 I’ll lower it again.

One of the goals with training is to keep the canopy even. So far I think I’m doing pretty good.

2-10-04, Day #25 of Veg:

Lots of things happened overnight.
First, the cab temp dropped to 70f making the res. temp drop to 68f.
So I closed the cold air intake, now the cab temp is at 77f. Hopefully this will bring the res. temp up as well.

Second, the pH dropped to 5.3.
So I added 0.5 ml per gal silicone. Now the pH is at 5.7.

Third, the ppm has dropped 80 parts since the nutrient change yesterday & each plant has drunk about ¼ gal of the solution.
So no adjustment needed for this. I’ll get the ppm back up when I top up the res.

I’ve decided to stop the training as of today. The plants are 8½” tall, nice & bushy, with lots of potential bud sites.
I’ll still tie them to keep the branches at an even height & an even distance from each other, but I won’t be pulling the tops over any more.
Once the flowering stretch is over, the branches should stay where they’ve been trained to, without any ties.
I’m figuring they’ll be about 10” tall by Saturday, (The Start of 12/12) & if they stretch to 3 times their starting height, they should end up about 30” tall at the end of flowering. If they get taller than 36” they’ll be in the lights.

Nutrients, temps & humidity are looking good today. No adjustments necessary.
The res. temps are back in the 70s & the cab temp is staying at 77f.
I noticed the tips of the newest growth on the main colas are turning yellow & pointing down.
I think this is from too high a ppm when I changed the solution the last time.

I added 1 gallon of plain 6.8 pH’d water to each res. today.
This brought the ppm down from 900 to 750 & raised the pH from 5.6 to 5.9.
This should stop the leaf tips from getting any more nutrient burn.
The plants are now 10” tall. So I’m going to start flowering tonight instead of Saturday.
I turned the lights off at 11:00pm. Let the stretch begin.

The plants grew another 1 ½". That makes them 15” tall now.
A few preflowers are starting to show but not enough to tell the sex yet.
I topped up the bubblers this evening.
This is what I added to 2 gallons of water.
7.5 ml per gal Micro
7.5 ml per gal Grow
15 ml per gal Bloom
5 ml per gal pH Down
After adding approximately 2/3-gallon of this to each bubbler, the ppm was 950 & the pH was 5.8.

I was hoping this would bring the pH down to 5.6. To get it down to 5.6, I added 2 ml pH down directly to each bubbler.
I also tied back a few of the branches to let more light & fresh air get to the middle of the plants.
When I put the plants back in the cab, I rearranged where they were.
I tried to get the parts of the plants with the slowest growth directly under the light. Hopefully this will help get this slower growth to speed up.

Here are several pictures of the plants out of the cab & 1 picture of them in their new positions.
The last picture shows the mist from the humidifier being blown into the lights.
It doesn’t seem to hurt the bulbs & I’ve been able to keep the cab temp below 80 with the cold air intake closed.
This works so well at keeping the lights cool, I can put my hand on the top of the reflector & it’s cool to the touch.

I topped up the bubbler today.

The plants are stretching like crazy & are now 19” tall.
While I had the plants out of the cab I did a search for any signs of what sex they might be & to my surprise, the 2 tallest plants are both female.
I still can’t tell what sex the smallest plant is, but it should show in the next day or two.

The ppm rise a bit, which means the plants are using more water than nutrients.
I’m fairly certain at this point that the smallest plant is a male. No big deal. The other two plants can use the extra room.
As soon as I see a cluster of balls on a stick I’ll remove it from the cab.

I pulled the male plant today & topped up the other two bubblers with the solution from the bubbler the male plant was in.
If you’ve noticed, the pH has been really low the last few days.
That’s because I didn’t calibrate my pH pen when I should have & it was off by 4/10ths of a point.
To get the pH back in the proper range I added 1 ml per gal of silicone, which brought the pH up to 5.7.
今天把雄的那株移掉, 並把他的氣泡桶內的營養液分給剩下的兩株母株, 如果你有注意到, 酸鹼值在過去幾天內保持的非常低(酸), 那是因為應該要重新校準酸鹼值計(筆)而我沒做, 它己經(4/10)不準確了, 為了把酸鹼值調回適當的範圍, 我每加侖1毫升的硅樹脂把酸鹼值調升回5.7

Some of the leaf tips were burned today from the high ppm of the nutrient solution.
So I guess its time to switch to the flowering mix.
Since the flowering mix has less nitrogen, I don’t believe the high ppm will be a problem.
The plants are still stretching & are now 23” tall.
Here’s what I added to 10 gallons of water to make the new solution.
6 ml per gal Micro
2.5 ml per gal Grow
11 ml per gal Bloom
This made the ppm of the new solution 1450 with a pH of 5.9.
After adding this to the bubbler the ppm was 1475 with a pH of 6.1.
今天, 有一些葉子的尖端因為營養液濃度太高而灼傷了, 所以我猜想是時候更換成開花期的配方了, 既然開花配方只含很少量的氮, 我就不相信高濃度還會成為問題, 植株們仍在伸展(長高), 他們己經23英吋高了, 以下是我在10加侖新配方裡加的成分

The pH went up to 6.4 overnight so I added 1.5 ml per gal pH down to get the pH to 6.0.
The plants really sucked up a lot of nutrients last night as well.

The pH was at 6.1 this morning, so I added 2 ml pH down per gal to get the pH to 5.7.
The plants are still stretching (they’re 27” tall now) & starting to produce more pistils.
今天早上酸鹼值升到6.1, 我因此加了每加侖2毫升的酸化劑讓酸鹼值降回5.7, 大麻們還在繼續伸展(他們己經27英吋高了)並生出更多的花蕊

2-26-04, Day #14 of Flowering:

The pH dropped to 5.5 overnight, which really surprised me. I thought it would start to drift up on a regular basis with the flowering nutrients.
They drank a lot of water since yesterday as well, causing the ppm to go up to 1450.
So, I added 1 ½ ml per gal silicone to each bubbler along with 40oz of r/o water.
This brought the pH to 5.9 & the ppm to 1400.
For the last week I’ve been pulling off dead fan leaves from the lower part of the plants.
酸鹼值一夜之間掉到5.5, 著實讓我嚇了一跳, 我認為應該以開花養分為基礎讓酸鹼值回升, 他們昨天也消耗了很多水分, 造成濃度升高到1,450PPM, 因此我在每個氣泡桶裡加了每加侖1.5毫升的硅樹脂和40盎司的R/O水(逆滲透水), 這使得酸鹼值為5.9, 濃度為1,400PPM, 在過去的一週內, 我不斷地把大麻底部週圍的己經死掉(枯掉)的葉子拔掉

The fan leaves dying off at this stage of the grow is very normal as the light can’t penetrate to the bottom branches.
Be careful not to pull them too soon. Leave them alone until you can pull them off with a light tug.
They should be fairly crispy by then. Pulling them off too soon rob your plants of the nutrients that are stored in the leaves.
I’ve also been trimming off a few of the small lower branches. I know from experience that they won’t amount to much of anything & I’d rather not waste the time or energy letting them grow. To keep the plants from going into shock, I don’t trim more than 1 a day & never more than a couple a week.
在這個成長階段, 因為光線無法穿透層層分枝照到底部, 所以主幹底部周圍的葉子慢慢乾枯掉落是佷正常的現象, 小心不要太早把他們拔掉, 把他們留到輕輕一拉就可以拔掉, 那個時候的底部的葉子應該乾枯到有點脆脆的了, 太快動手把他們拔掉等於搶走已經儲存在葉子裡的養分, 我也曾經修剪過一些底部的小分枝, 我從經驗中得知, 那些底部的小分枝不會產生太多的任何東西, 我寧願不要浪費時間或養分在等他們長大和成熟, 要避免驚嚇到植株, 我一天之內不會修剪超過一個分枝, 一週內不會修剪超過兩次

The plants drank over a gallon of water each since yesterday so the ppm is now up to 1500 with a pH of 5.5.
The plants don’t seem to mind the higher ppm, so I’m going to leave it there. But I will get the pH back up.
從昨天到現在大麻們喝了超過1加侖的水, 所以濃度高到1,500PPM, 酸鹼值為5.5, 他們看起來不在乎較高的濃度, 所以我不打算理會濃度, 但是我要把酸鹼值調回來

I added 1 gal top up solution to each bubbler today.
This is what I added to the 2 gallons of top up solution.

After adding this to the bubbler the pH was 5.8 & the ppm was 1500.
The plants are still stretching & are now 31” tall.
That leaves me about 5 more inches to move the light up before I run out of room.

The plants drank about ½ gal of water last night, which brought the ppm up to 1600.
I added ½ gal of plain water pH’d to 5.8 to both bubblers bringing the ppm back down to 1500.
The plants grew another inch since yesterday. So it looks like I’m going to be doing some late training.
I tied the tallest tops down enough to get them even with the other tops, which gave me another 4” of space to move the light up.
Hopefully that’s enough because I’m not so sure I’ll be able to pull them any lower.
The two tallest branches folded in half while I was pulling them down leaving a crease where it folded.
I’ve got them supported with wires so I don’t think it will cause any lasting damage. It might even make the stems stronger.

Same drill as yesterday.
The plants drank about ½ gal of water, which brought the ppm up to 1600.
I added ½ gal of plain water pH’d to 5.8 to both bubbler bringing the ppm back down to 1500.

I had to tie several of the tops down again today to keep them even with the rest of the canopy.
The highest top in the canopy is now 30” tall. They were 34” yesterday & would have been 35” by today.
So basically I gained 5” by getting the canopy even again.

Here’s an interesting side note. The two branches that folded in half yesterday, were the two that grew the most. Go figure.

Now that the plants are getting a lot of pistils, I decided to lower the humidity.
I’ll keep it between 40% & 50% for the next 2 to 3 weeks. Once the buds start to get some density, I’ll let the humidity drop into the 30s.
Keeping the humidity lower towards the end of flowering should stop any mold from growing on the buds.
If the buds get mold on them, they aren’t healthy to smoke. And that would mean I just wasted 3 to 4 months worth of time & effort.
Keeping the humidity lower makes the temp in my cab go up. By the end of flowering it will probably be in the mid to high 80s.
From what I’ve read, the plants will produce more trichome as a form of protection from the higher temp & lower humidity.
So bring on the trichome baby.

I changed the solution in the bubbler today.
Here’s what I added to 10 gallons of water to make the new solution.
8 ml per gal Micro
3 ml per gal Grow
16 ml per gal Bloom
3 ml per gal pH Down
This made the ppm of the new solution 1600 with a pH of 5.5.
After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 1610 with a pH of 5.7.
I’ll check the pH every couple of hours, as I’m sure the pH will drift up dramatically, like it always does after a solution change.
The plants grew less than an inch since yesterday, so hopefully the flowering stretch is about over. I sure hope so anyway. I’ve only got 5” left for the lights to move up. The canopy is staying nice & even too. So no retying was needed today.

To my surprise, the pH only went up to 5.8 & the ppm stayed the same.
The tips of the leaves are showing new signs of nutrient burn.
So I added ½ gal r/o water to each bubbler.
This brought the ppm down to 1500 & left the pH at 5.8.
I’m having a hard time keeping the humidity below 50%, even though I’ve got the humidifier on it’s lowest setting.
The lower I set it, the more the plants transpire, which keeps the humidity up.
When I turn the humidifier off, the temp goes up to 90f & the humidity drops into the 20s. Way to low. Hopefully I can find a way to remedy this problem.

I topped off the res today with a gallon of plain water pH’d to 5.9.

The flowering stretch is over but I’m worried that they will continue to grow another 2” to 4” before they’re finished. This puts me in a bit of a quandary.
The lights are as high as they’ll go & if the plants grow more than a couple of inches, they’ll be into the lights.

I’m either going to have to do some more training, which will be very difficult as the stems are starting to get woody & therefore don’t bend very easily.
Or, I’m going to have to remove the shelf between the top & bottom part of my cab. Not an easy chore. It’s nailed & glued to the sides & back of the cab.
I guess I’ll try doing some more training first & see how that goes.

On another note, a couple of weeks ago my circulation fan fell on plant #2. It bent one of the stems quite a lot. At the time, I didn’t notice any damage to the stem.
Today when I was checking the nutrients I noticed a large split in that stem.
This just goes to show how resilient Mary Jane plants are.
The cola on that stem has the most trichomes production & is one of the largest in the cab.

I tried to do some training yesterday to get the tops low enough to stay out of the lights. Unluckily, I couldn’t pull them low enough for them to be able to finish flowering. So, I spent 10 hours today redoing my cab,
I took out the shelf separating the top & bottom parts of the cab.
Now I have 7 ½’ in total height, so the plants have lots of room to grow.

I installed my ozone generator at the very top of the cab.
My ozone generator has a fairly powerful fan built into it, which enables me to use it as an exhaust fan. So I took one of the 4” fans out of the top of the cab & installed it at the bottom of the cab as an intake fan. Now I have two exhaust fans & one intake fan. I removed the Y connector that let the two-exhaust fans vent out one hole & installed another exhaust pipe going into the ceiling. Now each fan has it’s own exhaust hole, which gives me much better airflow.

Let’s see, what else did I do. I took out the humidifier to get the humidity into the 30s. I balanced a fan in the branches on the top of the bubblers & pointed it straight up into the plants. I took the other fan & pointed it at a wall to get even more air circulation.
This new setup seems to be working fairly well. Even though the humidity has dropped below 40%, the temp is still in the low 80s.
The only other thing I can think of that I did today was removing all the training wires. The flowering stretch is officially over so they’re not needed anymore.

The new setup is doing awesome.
The cab temps are lower than I’ve ever been able to get them without the humidifier & the humidity is perfect for flowering.
Installing the intake fan made all the difference.

The plants drank a gallon of water each since yesterdays nutrient change.
The ppm only went up to 1440 though. So the plants are taking up close to equal parts of water & nutrients.
The pH keeps drifting downwards, which seems kind of weird to me.
It was at 5.7 this morning.
The pH usually starts to drift upwards once the flowering stretch is over.
So I’m really baffled as to why the pH is drifting down.
Anyway, I topped up the bubbler today. The only nutrients I added to the top up solution were Bloom & Silicone.
Here’s what I added.
13ml per gal Bloom
5 ml per gal Silicone
After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 1400 with a pH of 6.0.

So I just sat & admired them for a while.

The plants have now drunk another gal of solution, leaving the ppm at 1550.
The pH dropped again today. It was at 5.5.
So I topped up the bubbler today. The only thing I added to the water was 2 ml per gal pH Up. This brought the ppm back down to 1400 & brought the pH back up to 6.0.

I think the reason my pH has been dropping, is because I’ve been using silicone to raise the pH. I believe the plants have been sucking up the Si, which has been causing the pH to drop. This might also explain why the stems are as strong as they are. They won’t have any problem holding up the weight of a nice fat cola.
To try & stop the pH from dropping, I’m going to use pH up instead of Si to raise the pH. Hopefully this will stop the downward drift.

The plants drank a gallon of water since the nutrient change yesterday.
The ppm only went up to 1450, but the pH dropped to 5.5.
I still haven’t figured out why the pH is dropping this late in flowering.
But I guess it’s no big deal since the plants look awesome.
Anyway, I added 1 gal of top up solution to each bubbler.
Here’s what I added to 2 gallons of water.
5 ml per gal Bloom
½ tsp per gal Kool Bloom
10 ml per gal pH up
After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 1450 with a pH of 6.0.

So I added a gallon of top up solution to each bubbler.
The only thing I added was 5 ml per gal pH Up.
After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 1510 with a pH of 6.1.

The plants drank about ½ gallon of water since yesterday.
The ppm dropped a little & the pH went up to 5.9.
Since the plants drank slightly more nutrients than water, they must have needed the nutrients they were able to absorb at the lower pH.
To get the pH back to 5.7, I added 1 ml per gal pH Down to each bubbler.
This brought the pH down to 5.7.

It’s time to replace the old nutrients with new nutrients.
I’m not going to give the plants any nitrogen for the rest of the grow.
So the only nutrients they’ll get from here on are the Bloom nutrients.
I’ve decided to stop using the Kool Bloom as it has a small amount of nitrogen in it, which could affect the taste.
Here’s what I added to 10 gallons of water to make the new solution.
30 ml per gal Bloom
I checked the trichome for cloudiness & found that about 10% of them have already gotten cloudy.
There are even a few that have a little amber color starting to show.
So I’m figuring they’ve still got about 2 weeks to go.

The plants drank almost ½ gal of water since last night.
The reason I say water, is the ppm went up quite a bit, which means the plants drank more water than nutrients.
I’ve noticed the plants uptake water & nutrients fairly evenly when the pH is at or above 5.9. So, I added 2 ml per gal Silicone to each bubbler.
This brought the pH up to 5.9.
I’ll check the ppm later this evening to see if it’s still at 1400.

The plants drank another ½ gallon of solution. The pH stayed at 5.9 & the ppm only went up to 1420. That confirms that the plants can’t uptake as much P & K at lower pH levels. So keeping the pH at or above 5.9 late in flowering allows the plants to uptake more P & K, which lets the plants produce bigger juicier buds.
So I added a gallon of top up solution to each bubbler.
Here’s what I added to 2 gallons of tap water.
Nothing, Nada, Zip, Zilch, Zero.
This brought the ppm down to 1350 with a pH of 5.9.

Here’s a picture of one of the leaves.
The purple coloring of the stem & the spots you see are normal for this stage of flowering. Since I haven’t been giving them nitrogen for a while, they’re using what’s stored in the leaves. Which is exactly what you want to happen as your bud will be smoother & taste better without the stored nutrients.

The plants drank about ¾ of a gallon of solution.
The ppm went up to 1500 & the pH stayed at 6.0.
I did a trichome color check this evening & found that about 10% had turned amber, about 60% are cloudy & 30% are still clear.
So they are almost ready to harvest.
I’m going to start a plain water flush tomorrow.
I’m going to do this for 2 days then dump the water & add new water with Final Flush added. I’ll leave that in the bubbler for 2 or 3 days & then harvest.

I emptied the bubbler & put in new solution.
Here’s what I added to 10 gallons of water.

3 ml per gal pH Down
After adding this to the bubbler, the ppm was 350 with a pH of 5.7.

When flushing your plants, it’s best to have your ppm between 300 & 400.
If the plants roots don’t have something to absorb, the absorption process can totally shut down, leaving you with unflushed nasty tasting bud.
Don’t use Micro or Grow nutrients to get the ppm up, as the nitrogen in them is what causes the bad taste.
At 350 ppm, the small amount of Phosphorous & Potassium in the nutrients won’t leave a bad taste in the bud, especially if you use a flushing agent the last few days of the grow.
沖洗大麻時, 最好是讓濃度保持在300~400個PPM之間, 如果大麻的根部完全吸收不到養分, 整個吸收養分的過動就會關閉, 留下未經沖洗, 味道極差的花苞給你, 不要使用微量元素或成長肥來提高濃度, 因為它們所含的氮是造成味道不好的主因, 營養液濃度350個PPM時所含的少量磷和鉀不會留給你味道不好的花苞, 尤其是你在種植的最後幾天有做沖洗這個動作

I’m going to be out of town until Wednesday. So I’ve decided to keep flushing the girls until then & harvest Thursday morning. This will make the total flowering time 63 days (9 weeks exactly).

Since the Final Flush additive is only supposed to be used for 2 to 3 days, I went ahead & emptied the bubbler & refilled them with ½ well water & ½ r/o water.
This gave the water a ppm of 60 with a pH of 5.9.
I’ve been informed from some very knowledgeable people, that using plain water, with nothing added for a final flush, works just as well as a low ppm final flush. So I’m giving it a try to see how well it works for myself.
I’m also turning the lights off for the remainder of the grow.
The only reason I’m doing this, is I don’t want the plants to drink to much water while I’m gone. With the lights off, they won’t uptake as much water or transpire as much. So they should be okay without adding water while I’m gone.

The ppm dropped to 30 & the pH dropped to 5.2.
I’m not sure if the lights being off for the last 5 days had anything to do with it, but the amount of trichome nearly doubled while I was gone.
The plants have been flushed for 11 days now & I’m sure there are no chemicals left to leave a bad taste. So I chopped them down this evening & hung them by their heels to dry.
I have both fans blowing on them to help insure that no mold will start growing on the buds.

4-19-04, Day 5 of Drying:
Cab Temp 70f, RH 41%.

The plants are drying nicely & should be ready to manicure & start curing in a couple of days.
大麻們乾燥的情形不錯, 應該再幾天之內就可以修剪和保存了

I finally got around to removing the roots from the net pots & cleaning out the bubbler.
I took a few pictures of the roots I thought you might find interesting.
The roots were extremely healthy & the straw color is totally normal.
我終於有空把根部移除以及清洗氣泡桶, 我拍了一些你們可能感興趣的根部照片, 那些根部健康到不行, 顏色像稻草完成正常

The air disc I used put out a lot of bubbles that formed a column going straight up. As the roots grew, they formed a circle around the column of air. Kinda cool looking really.
我使用的氣泡石盤送出的氣泡多到在營養液裡形成一道氣泡圓柱, 根部在繞著這道氣泡圓柱而形成一個圓形, 看起來還真有點酷

I also took a picture of the empty bubbler. I left a couple inches of water in the bottom to show the amount of residue left after 13 weeks of growth. As you can see, there isn’t much. If the roots stay healthy & you rinse the hydroton extremely well before you use it, there should be next to no residue left at the end of the grow.

4-21-04, Day 7 of Drying:

The plants are dry enough to start curing the buds, so I removed the fan leaves, cut off the excess stem & manicured the buds.
To cure the buds, I place them in an airtight Tupperware container for 2 weeks.
I remove the lid for 5 minutes, twice a day, everyday, to allow fresh air in.
After 2 weeks of curing, I’ll vacuum seal the cured buds in Mason jars.
大麻們己經夠乾燥可以開始保存花苞了, 所以我把周圍的葉子移除, 剪掉多餘的莖, 並且修剪花苞, 要保存花苞, 我把他們放進氣密的容器裡兩週, 每天兩次, 每次5分鐘, 打開容器讓新鮮空氣進入容器裡, 保存2週過後, 我將把保存修正過味道的花苞密封收進真空瓶裡

Oh Yeah, I almost forgot.
噢, 差點忘記

The final dried weight in was 121 grams. (4-¼ oz.)
Not the best I’ve done, but not the worst either & definitely worth doing again.
The samples I’ve smoked so far have a smooth sweet citrus aftertaste. It’s a very pleasant up high that hits you in stages. It lasts for a couple of hours then drops off just as smooth as it comes on.
The high should get a little stronger after it’s had a chance to cure for a while.
最後的乾燥後的收成是121公克(4.5盎司)
不是我最過最好(多), 但也不是最差的, 絕對值得再種一次, 到目前為止我抽過的樣品都有個又順又甜的柑橘味的回甘, 感覺是一種非常舒服而愉快的HIGH, 一波波地衝擊而來, 維持個幾小時然後退得像來時一樣地順暢, 如果有機會再保存久一點, 感覺應該會再強烈些

  2. "一個很大的裂痕在那個莖幹上, 這正好顯示出大麻這種植物多麼有彈性(軔性), 這枝莖幹上的甜筒有著最多的毛毛, 而且還是箱內最大的花苞之一"
    這麼說來...在開花期間,其實可以在較大的支幹上,做出一定程度的破壞,反而可以得到更大支的cola囉?!
    這讓我不禁想到我們家以前種蓮霧以及荔枝、龍眼的時候,在催花期前,都是要先將樹幹作出一定程度的破壞...我當時還小不懂,我還曾經詢問過我爺爺為何如此,他說這樣花才開得多,花開得多,果子結得就多...並且亦可以促使植株早點開花,這是早期肥料、農藥還沒有那麼先進的時候,古人的經驗結晶...

  4. 「大麻最佳的生長溫度是介於華氏70~79度(攝氏21~26度)而開花階段可以讓溫度高到華氏90度(攝氏32度), 開花時的高溫會造成大麻產生更多的的毛狀體用以保護自己不受高溫傷害」

    開花期32°C的溫度還不算難,但是生長期要控制21 ~ 26°C的溫度倒是一大問題,何況還是他媽的夏天,難不成要讓這些綠色惡魔吹冷氣嗎?! orz

    2. 悶和熱是連在一起的, 保持空氣流通
    3. 努力散熱, 不行就開冷氣吧
